The Favorites of Wild Wonder

Where is your wonder? Have you taken the time to find it yet? Have you stepped outside to witness the changing of the trees, the resilient summer bloom still hanging on, the flight of birds as they gather their winter meals? Wonder isn’t seasonal. It is always there, waiting, waiting. It’s time to open your eyes, so you can see it too.

Are you still holding fast to the joys of summer? Are you not ready to be daydreaming about the treasures of fall? Let me share our summertime wonder with you! Each of us here at Elizabeth Harness Studio has chosen our favorite painting from the recently released collection, WILD WONDER. Plus, I’ll share an extra special People’s Choice selection. First up, a small and mighty painting!

EMERGING MAJESTY |12'“ x 12”| is an acrylic, pastel, and graphite painting. Home to deep, deep greens and fields of lush purple, this painting features the quiet majesty of a monarch butterfly’s emergence. It came as no surprise that this is J’s favorite painting from WILD WONDER. In a way, this painting connects perfectly to his personality. As my oldest, J has a quiet observant nature, always finding beauty and knowledge in the small moments. He could spend an afternoon chasing butterflies or simply wandering the yard looking for little treasures. He is always eager to share his finds—a caterpillar munching, a butterfly emerging, the one wildflower blooming amongst the grass.

IF I WAS A BIRD |40” x 30”| an acrylic, pastel, and India ink painting on canvas. This is the painting that my youngest, R, chose. It is big. It is bold. It is whimsical. Just like him! He is our fearless explorer, always ready for adventure. He is full of big dreams and imagination and always looking to the sky for a feathered friend.

MORNING HERALD |12” x 12”| an acrylic, pastel, graphite, and India ink painting on canvas. Any guess on who’s favorite this one is?! That’s right, it’s mine! With all its lush pinks and greens, it was hard for me to not choose this one. Plus, that blue jay and his cheeky lil’ smile suggesting that he is about to get in to some trouble, gets me in the feels! What can I say? I love a bit of unexpected sassiness, it’s who I am. It’s in my blood.

THERE IS BEAUTY IN THE WEEDS |20” x 20”| an acrylic, pastel, and India ink on canvas. Introducing the People’s Choice selection! A few days ago I asked for those on Instagram to vote for their favorite. This was their (YOUR!) choice! This painting is beautiful with its oranges and blues. There is a boldness, and yet, a softness to this painting that connects perfectly to the thoughts behind it. To have the boldness in life to find beauty in the unexpected and live your life fully regardless of others thoughts. To have the softness in your heart to realize that there is strength to be found even in the roughest terrain. A reminder that I think we all need from time to time.

It has been a pleasure sharing our favorites with you! Each of these paintings are available in my shop under WILD WONDER. Click the button to be taken there!
